The Gangneung Cultural Heritage Night festival showcases Gangneung’s historical treasures through performances, activities, and themed programs, promoting cultural preservation and local tourism.

The Gangneung Cultural Heritage Night festival, part of the National Heritage Night program since 2016, brings history to life with a vibrant mix of performances, hands-on activities, and art, promoting the value and preservation of Gangneung’s heritage. Held in the historical Gangneung Daedohobu Government Office and Seoboo Market areas, the festival offers eight themed programs: Night View (illuminated historical sites), Night Road (decorated streets), Night History (historical stories), Night Flower (performances), Night Talk (lectures), Night Food (local delicacies), Night Stay (traditional Hanok lodging), and Night Market (crafts and souvenirs). Highlights include the grand opening ceremony, “Elegance of Gangneung” Hanbok fashion show, drone show, cultural heritage exhibition, and performances of traditional Korean arts such as the Gangneung Danoje ‘Gwano Mask Dance’ and Gangneung Nongak. Visitors can participate in activities like enjoying food from 8 trucks, Night Beer Street, the Gangneung Food Culture Market, live “Dalbam (Moonlight) Busking,” and collecting stamps with the “Twinkling Night Coupon” event.
